four of eight are opposed to civil unions, same sex marriage. one adamantly sure that if civil unions are allowed, the generations will stop. this was one of several topics they've named as fodder for debate.
how to educate, not use the power (such as it is) of my job to proselytize. also: who would listen, and also, what would that change?

I think this is something about which we who use social media a lot forget that others have real issues and problems. There could well be a life time of cultural and/or religious teaching to overcome before people realise that gay marriage is only going to affect them if they themselves are gay. I am sure you will find words and images to help shed some light for these kids. You may not see the progress today, or tomorrow but it might work on them, making them think and helping shape and inform their outlook and opinions in the future.
