I can wish and wish that people doing things wrong would cut it out. But it's unlikely that they will.

We can all try to do better but sometimes we have to admit to ourselves that no matter how hard we try nor how much effort we make, others are still going to be as awkward and difficult as they ever were. Then it becomes time to say, "it's their problem."
